Name Izkinder
Gender Male; biologically female (FTM Transgender)
Breed Icelandic Horse X Chincoteague
Age Four
Appearance/Coloring Izkinder is a small but robust horse, his body compact and muscular. He sports red pinto markings and blue eyes, the majority of his body being white with several large patches of red. He has a large scar running up either side of his neck from an encounter with a less than accepting stallion, but otherwise is fairly in-tact.
Height 12.2 HH
Alliance Light
Personality It's not that Izkinder is particularly noble, or even friendly. In fact his personality would lead most to believe that he'd fair better with Dark horses. But the little outcast isn't exactly the size for fighting, and Dark stallions are notorious for forcing mares. While he sees himself as male, he has learned that few stallions are willing to hear him for long, let alone respect his identity.
He has found safety under the Light alliance, where most are, at the very least, respectful. But it hasn't changed much about him. Izkinder is rude and standoffish; it isn't uncommon for him to lash out at others and he often partakes in verbal smack-downs. He has developed this angry, calloused exterior to help protect himself from the judgement of others, but if you respect him and show him kindness you will likely receive the same.
History Izkinder was born to a large, island-dwelling herd of hardy, small horses. For the first four or five months of his life he was addressed as a female, but after being weened he spent some time in the company of the herd colts. Something clicked. He was immediately more fond of rough-housing, cursing, and general male behavior. Still, he kept it under wraps for another few months.
Just before he turned one year, Izkinder met a true stallion. His father, leader of their band, had finally taken time to come visit this year's foals properly. Izzy clung to his side, and the two formed a strong bond. Soon he could no longer stand to hear 'she' in reference to him, and he came out to his family.
Things did not go well. It was as though months of time spent together, of family bonds, simply crumbled the moment he spoke. Mere hours passed before the young horse was driven away, and after several months of barely surviving on his own, Izkinder finally took a plunge and fled his original island home. He ended up on Riptide, and is desperate to find a place among others.
